I’m Helen, the children’s ministry assistant, and I manage the Messy Hands & Mini Hands children’s groups - you will mostly find me crawling around on my hands and knees setting up toys for Messy Hands, wandering around covered in paint/cornflour/jelly/ or vacuuming cereal from the family centre carpet.

I have been involved in children’s work at SBC for 25 years in various capacities. I work at Messy Hands on Mondays and Tuesdays, and for the rest of my week up at Embsay with Eastby preschool playgroup with children ages 2-4 years.

I’m on the safeguarding team at SBC as well as being deputy safeguarding lead up at Embsay.  

I love singing and I am on the worship team, as well as being a Connect group leader.

Spare time is scarce but when I get the chance I enjoy being out in the garden digging and planting, meeting up with friends, walking, crafting  or reading.  

I am married to Phil and we have four children.
